Living in New York City often goes in hand in hand with living with a roommate. Rent in the city that never sleeps is incredibly high and sometimes sharing an apartment with a friend or roommate is the only way to survive financially. The only problem is that it is not always easy sharing your living space with someone else. Common issues roommates deal with are differences in personality, differences in manners, late night visitors, dealing with different work and sleep schedules… the list goes on and on. Luckily pressurized walls exist and are often like a godsend.
Unless pricey rent is not an issue for you, finding an apartment that meets all your standards can be very difficult. It is easy to find spots that you would love to live in, but being able to afford them is another story. This is why most people take the plunge with roommates.
Temporary partitions, aka pressurized walls, offer the perfect solution for dividing large spaces into smaller areas that allow for more privacy. With these temporary walls installed, you no longer have to worry about conflicting roommate schedules and this simply means more peace and tranquility in your home.

Because these temporary walls are easily removable without causing any damage to the existing walls, floors, and ceilings, most landlords allow them in their buildings. But just to be safe, always make sure to double check with your building’s rules and regulations.

The convenience that pressurized walls provide is awesome. Normally to do something similar you would have to get all sort of permits, get your landlord’s approval, hire contractors, and deal with a messy living situation till the job is complete… not to mention, spend a lot of money. Now the solution is simple, affordable, and only takes a couple of hours.
Dealing with roommates can have its ups and downs. Sometimes things work out perfectly, but other times you might fight that there is a lot to be desired. Maybe you decide to share an apartment with a best friend, but living with a best friend is definitely different than just hanging out on the the weekends. We all have our pet peeves which might seem harmless, but could turn into nightmares when dealing with them on a daily basis.

Dealing with roommates bringing people over can sometimes get overwhelming, especially when you don’t get along well with their friends or significant others. This is a situation that is not fair for both parties… why should anyone have to sacrifice their personal relationships over a living arrangement. Luckily pressurized walls solve this dilemma and keeps everyone happy.

Use pressurized walls to create the ideal living environment that you have always wanted. There is no need to sacrifice your sanity and privacy when sharing your living space with a roommate.

When you think about living in New York City, you can easily imagine the music, the action, and the sheer vibrant life that makes this amazing city such an attractive place to live. The trouble is that when you think about NYC, you are also thinking about things like small cramped rooms and sky-high prices when it comes to rent! They say that everything comes with a price, and when it comes to the Big Apple, that price is generally considered to be the cost of living!

When you can’t stand the idea of being away from the city, though, you’ll find that there are solutions that can take the bite out of living in this terrific location, and one of the best options that you have out there is going to be the use of pressurized walls.

Pressurized walls are essentially the modern, adult alternative to putting up a sliding door or a cloth to separate a room. These walls look and act just like real walls, separating up rooms and dividing up the available space. They are virtually indistinguishable from real walls, with the only difference being that they can be installed and removed without any changes or structural damage to the room at all.

With more and more of us living in places with rules about hanging up pictures, let alone walls, this can be a great way to get more bang for your buck when you are living in New York City. Just make sure to check with your building’s regulations first, as not all landlords allow installations of pressurized walls.

For instance, when you live in New York, you know that having a roommate can make things a lot easier. There is someone to split the rent with, there is someone around who can help you pet sit, and it can just be nice to have someone else around. On the other hand, what if you are a private person? Even if you like or even love the person who is staying with you, there is nothing that says that you have to love having them in your space! Take some time and make sure that you think long and hard about what it means to bring someone into your living space, especially if the apartment was not necessarily meant for more than one person in the first place.

Pressurized walls can take some of the pressure off from living with other people. When you have a roommate, things get cheaper, but your tolerance for people who are constantly where you are living might be giving you a pause. With pressurized walls installed, you can turn a large loft into a cozy two or three bedroom apartment, and this can go a long way towards letting you pay your rent while also making sure that you don’t kill your roommate!

You get cheaper rent while still getting to keep your privacy and in New York City, that is definitely saying something. As an adult privacy is essential so if you can manage to have both, you have yourself a winner!

Pressurized walls can definitely be the solution that you have been searching for. It is affordable and it will more than make back its investment when the roommate moves in!

WHAT ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS?

Pressurized walls are temporary wall systems that use pressure instead of nails, screws, or adhesives to stay in place. Pressurized walls cause no damage to existing floors, ceilings, nor walls therefore making them extremely popular in New York apartments where permanent construction is usually not allowed in most lease agreements. The high cost of real estate in New York City is another reason why these pressurized walls systems have become extremely popular with tenants who want to add an extra room, walk-in closet, or even home office to their apartment.

CAN PRESSURIZED WALLS BE CUSTOMIZED?

Yes, there are many options to consider when installing pressurized walls. Every individual’s needs is different and most professional companies are able to accomodate most requests. These temporary walls can include numerous door options, window options, ventilation options, and even sound proofing options. All walls can also be painted to match your apartment’s current color.

ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS SAFE?

Yes, professional installers pay close attention to security and fire hazard regulations which must be followed by law. Selecting a professional company to install your pressurized walls is very important.

ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS GOOD SOUND BARRIERS?

Sound proofing is an option which can be added to your pressurized walls installation. There are many options ranging from sound attenuating drywall, sound attenuating blankets and insulation (placed inside the structure), sound attenuating paint, and even double door installations. Not every pressurized wall company specializes in sound proofing so make sure to find the right one.

Most of us don’t like to live in a shoebox and give our landlord most of our hard owned wages, right? The “City That Never Sleeps” has much to offer; you’ll never go hungry cause you can always find somewhere to eat at all hours of the day, you have a plethora of bars and nite clubs to have a drink and do a little dancing, you have unlimited amounts of shopping sources, museums, plays, movies, etc, etc. etc.

Before you start apartment hunting through ads (both print and online), you should travel around and look at which areas of Manhattan attract you the most. Believe it or not, there are a very wide variety of differences when going from neighborhood to neighborhood.. .sometimes even a simple block can make a large difference in NYC.

Once you have narrowed down your areas of possible living, you should see how big the average apartment (within your budget) is. Obviously neighborhoods in high demand will give you the smallest amount of living space for your buck. Ideally, finding an apartment big enough to possibly share with a roommate is a good idea… especially if you are trying to budget your finances.

So now you have chosen your neighborhood, you have figured out your budget (sharig rent with a roommate), but to your surprise your budget can only afford a single bedroom apartment! This could be doable for some people, but most adults like to have some privacy and sharing a bedroom with someone else (possibly even someone you just met) could be a little uncomfortable. So what do you do now?

The answer is quite simple… pressurized walls. Most apartment buildings in NYC do not let you do permanent contstruction to your apartment. Pressurized walls are the easy solution to this problem because they are temporary walls that are held up by pressure, in other words, they do not need nails, glue, screws to be held in place. Why is this good? Well, because you can have a fully functional wall (you can even get it soundproofed) that will add the much privacy needed and won’t cause any damage to the existing walls, floor, & ceiling. So once your lease is over, you can simply remove these pressurized walls and be on your merry way leaving your apartment in the absolute same condition it was when you got it. No holes to plaster, paint to patch, etc.
